Its common to hear Diamond theft in 70 thousand crore Surat diamond industry. In a recent event 40 L diamond was stolen from a diamond company from Varacha. Police suspects two watchmen who disappeared after the heist. Surat Police team which had gone to Rajasthan to track whereabouts of a watchman in connection with the Rs 40-lakh diamond theft case, did not find any sucess.

Surat Police failed to trace him to his village called Kumbheri in the state. Thieves had stolen polished diamonds worth ra 40lakh from Vrundavan Estate in Varchha area in the city by using a gas cutter on April 30 The factory owner, Pravin Patel, said he had kept 922 carat polished diamonds in the safe. It is suspected that two watchmen, Dinesh and Bunty, are mastermind behind this heist. Bunty had brought Dinesh in place of him when he was on leave. And soon after theft they disappeared for Surat.
